Who We Are

EDUCATE. EMPOWER. ENLIGHTEN

Backed by a decade of philanthropic work, the ALO Cultural Foundation was founded in 2008 to build stronger, healthier communities through social investment. The Foundation focuses on community outreach and educational programs that empower women and mentor youth in the U.S. and in Middle Eastern countries. By doing so, we aim to promote cultural understanding and friendship between these two regions.

The Foundation was founded by Wafa Kanan, President of Unique Image Inc. and publisher of ALO magazine.

Each of the Foundation's numerous programs are anchored by the Foundation's singular mission: to Educate, Empower and Enlighten disadvantaged individuals.

Mission

Our mission is educating, empowering and enlightening disadvantaged global communities with a focus on he U.S. and the Middle East. We heal emotional, physical and cultural wounds --- enriching everyone we encounter.

Vision

ALO Cultural Foundation empowers citizens to envision their goals and achieve their dreams. We dedicate resources to those in dire need of assistance who once believed it was impossible to even imagine a better life.

Through good will expeditions to the Middle East, special events and philanthropy, we contact indigent individuals, offering our devotion and loyalty to the most vulnerable: women and children who require guidance during their first tenuous steps toward self sufficiency. We inspire confidence within them so they can transform their lives and realize a bright future.

We believe in action. We believe in empowerment. We break down barriers that are self imposed, revealing this truth: the possibilities for success are endless.

We believe that humanity has no nationality. We know that every one of us is more alike each other than different from one another. The key to raising this awareness is through person-to-person contact that penetrates the false barriers of political systems and stereotypes. We extend our hands to connect and help, one cause and one person at a time.

We educate. We empower. We enlighten.
